President Prabowo Subianto awarded state honours to the Indonesian National Police (Polri) during a ceremony marking the 80th Bhayangkara Day at the Korbrimob training ground in Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday. The President officially conferred the Nugraha Sakanti honour, the Bintang Bhayangkara Nararya, and special promotions to several recipients. The awards were based on Presidential Decrees Number 37 and 38/TK/2026 and Number 55/POLRI/2026 concerning honours and honorary promotions within Polri. The Nugraha Sakanti award was presented to 11 police units, including the Metro Jaya, West Java, North Sumatra, Riau, Lampung, Central Java, Banten, Central Kalimantan, and East Java regional police, as well as the Police Legal Division and the Police Finance Centre. The Bintang Bhayangkara Nararya was awarded to three personnel: Senior Commissioner Ach. Prasetiyo Adhi Wibowo, a senior police instructor; First Inspector Nengsi Marline Waromy, head of the general affairs sub-unit at the West Papua Police; and Chief Brigadier Wawan Setiyawan from the Brimob protocol sub-unit. Additionally, Prabowo granted special promotions to three retired officers as a mark of respect for their long service: retired Inspector General Sidarto Danusubroto and retired Inspector General Taufiequrachman Ruki were promoted to Honorary Commissioner General, while retired Brigadier General Taufiq Effendi was promoted to Honorary Inspector General. The awards symbolise the state’s appreciation for the dedication, loyalty, and integrity of the police force in maintaining security, upholding the law, and serving the public.
