Prabowo Attends May Day at Monas, Greets and Shakes Hands with Labour Masses

Observation by detikcom on Friday (1/5/2026) showed labour masses filling the Monas area, particularly near the Monas monument base. Crowds had been arriving at Monas since 06:00 WIB. Prabowo arrived at 08:38 WIB, dressed in a brown safari suit complete with a hat. He greeted and shook hands with the workers from the RI 1 vehicle that transported him. Attending labour unions included KSPSI, SPMI, KSPN, FSPMI, and SPSI. Union flags fluttered among the masses. Several members of the Merah Putih Cabinet were present, including Deputy Minister for State Secretariat Affairs Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Manpower Yassierli, and Deputy Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. Additionally, MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani, DPR Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo were seen on the event stage. KSPSI President Andi Gani Nena Wea and labour figure兼 Minister of Environment and Forestry Jumhur Hidayat also attended the event location. This year marks the second time Prabowo has attended the Labour Day action. In his first year of government, Prabowo attended Labour Day at Monas in 2025.
