Prabowo Attends Luncheon with Putin in Vladivostok, Russia
President Prabowo Subianto attended a luncheon with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Vladivostok, Russia. A number of delegates from both nations accompanied the luncheon meeting.
According to a broadcast from the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel on Thursday (3/9/2026), the luncheon was held in a single room with a long-table formation facing each other. The event was opened directly by Putin.
“Allow me to welcome you to Vladivostok. This is the second meeting this year,” Putin said, opening the luncheon.
Putin stated that he and Prabowo share both a personal relationship and strategic cooperation between the two countries. He also expressed his appreciation for Prabowo’s arrival in Vladivostok to attend the 11th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
“Our personal contact reflects the strategic nature of the bilateral relationship between Russia and Indonesia. I would like to thank the President for his willingness to visit the city of Vladivostok and to participate in the Eastern Economic Forum as a primary guest of honour,” he said.
Furthermore, Putin noted that Indonesia is a strategic partner in the Asia-Pacific region, referencing the cooperation established between the two nations over many years.
“Indonesia is a key partner for Russia in the Asia-Pacific region. We are linked by years of friendly relations,” he remarked.
Prabowo was accompanied by several cabinet members during this meeting, including Foreign Minister Sugiono, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
