Prabowo Attends Labour Day Commemoration, Tosses Cap from the Stage

President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, attended the International Labour Day commemoration at Monas on Friday (1/5). Prabowo was welcomed by workers participating in the Labour Day action as he entered the stage. Prabowo shook hands one by one with the attending workers as he made his way to the stage. On the stage, Prabowo waved his hand and tossed his cap to the workers who had filled the area around the stage. Prabowo will deliver his speech in front of the workers and labourers organising the International Labour Day or May Day action. Traffic in the National Monument (Monas) area was observed to be congested ahead of the International Labour Day (May Day) commemoration on Friday (1/5). The congestion was triggered by the arrival of buses transporting the worker masses. Those vehicles filled the road sections with flags of various labour unions attached. The buses that arrived came from several regions, evident from the diverse vehicle licence plates. Vehicle flow slowed as the volume of masses around the location increased. On the pedestrian side, masses from various labour elements crowded the area. Several street vendors were also seen selling along the road.
