Prabowo Attends Indonesia-Japan Business Forum, Secures Rp 381 Trillion in Investments
President Prabowo Subianto attended the Japan-Indonesia Business Forum alongside members of the Merah Putih Cabinet and business leaders from Indonesia. This event formed a key part of his state visit to Japan.
Quoting the official Instagram account @presidenrepublikindonesia on Monday (30/3/2026), the forum resulted in agreements for around ten business collaborations between Indonesian and Japanese companies. The value was substantial, reaching US$22.6 billion or approximately Rp 381.9 trillion (exchange rate Rp 16,900).
βIn the forum, ten business-to-business cooperation agreements with a value of up to US$22.6 billion were successfully agreed upon,β stated the official caption on the account.
These collaborations represent a strategic step in bolstering the complementary economic relations between Indonesia and Japan, while opening broader opportunities for cooperation in various priority sectors, including industry, energy, and technology development.
Prabowo also paid a courtesy visit to Emperor Naruhito at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. The two heads of state held a one-on-one meeting in a warm and friendly atmosphere for approximately 45 minutes, followed by a luncheon meeting, totalling two hours at the Imperial Palace.
During the meeting, President Prabowo and Emperor Naruhito discussed several strategic issues of mutual interest to both countries in the fields of investment, energy, and environmental conservation.
