President Prabowo Subianto attended the Board of Peace (BoP) meeting in Washington, DC, United States. The forum was the first gathering since the body was established by President Donald Trump.

Prabowo arrived at the venue on Thursday (19/2/2026) local time. At the meeting, Prabowo was seen standing in the front row alongside a number of other national leaders.

Prabowo was positioned at the far left of the row, next to Argentine President Javier Gerardo Milei. Besides Donald Trump, US Vice President JD Vance and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio were also present at the meeting.

Prabowo had arrived in the United States on Tuesday (17/2). Prior to attending the Board of Peace meeting, he participated in a forum with business leaders at the Business Summit held at the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC on Wednesday (18/2).

Prabowo described the Board of Peace meeting as highly significant. He explained that the forum was established as an effort to implement a sustainable ceasefire in Gaza.

He affirmed that he would continue to seek genuine solutions for Palestinian independence.

“As you know, I am here at the invitation of the President of the United States for a very important meeting of the Board of Peace. This is the first official meeting of the council, which was formed to address the implementation and sustainability of the ceasefire in Gaza. We are striving to continue paving the way towards a genuine and lasting solution for the Palestinian issue,” Prabowo said at the Business Summit at the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC on Wednesday (18/2/2026) local time.

The Board of Peace is chaired by Trump. Beneath it sit the Founding Executive Council, the Executive Council for Gaza, and the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG).

According to Al Jazeera, the White House has officially invited 50 countries to join the Board of Peace.

Thus far, 35 national leaders have expressed interest. Of these, 26 countries have formally joined and been designated as founding members of the council, including Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Egypt, Hungary, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Morocco, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.

A number of countries confirmed their attendance, including the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Pakistan, Hungary, Argentina, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.

Israel, which recently announced it would join, is also set to attend the meeting. The Chairman of the Palestinian Technocrat Committee, formed to manage the day-to-day governance of Gaza, Ali Shaath, was also in Washington DC to attend the meeting.

According to the official White House website, the Board of Peace plays a key role in Trump’s 20-point plan. Its primary objective is to “resolve the conflict in Gaza.”

“The Board of Peace will play a critical role in fulfilling all 20 points of the President’s plan, providing strategic oversight, mobilising international resources, and ensuring accountability as Gaza transitions from conflict to peace and development,” the White House wrote on 16/1/2026.
