Prabowo Attends DPR Plenary Session Today to Discuss the Economy and Fiscal Policy

President Prabowo Subianto attended the Plenary Session of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) at the Parliament complex on Wednesday, 20 May. The agenda included delivering the macroeconomic framework and the main policy directions of the RAPBN 2027. The plenary session, the 19th of the DPR RI for the 2025-2026 Session Year, was also attended by Deputy Speakers Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and Saan Mustopa, who on Tuesday, 19 May, confirmed the President’s attendance. In addition to presenting the KEM-PPKF (the macroeconomic framework and main fiscal policy) for RAPBN 2027, the plenary would hear the Legislative Body’s report on the Second Change to the Priority Prolegnas for 2026, followed by a decision. There would also be factions’ opinions on the Bill proposed by Commission III concerning amendments to Law No. 2 of 2002 on the Indonesian National Police, followed by a decision to enact it as a DPR RI proposal. State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, who is also the Presidents spokesperson, said the President would directly deliver the macroeconomic framework and the main fiscal policy for the RAPBN 2027 at the DPR plenary. ‘God willing, the President will be present. Coincidentally it is National Awakening Day on Wednesday, 20 May. Therefore, the President wishes to use this momentum to unite the nation’s views and strength, especially in carrying out the task of safeguarding the nation’s economy,’ Prasetyo said on Tuesday, 19 May.
