Prabowo Attends 79th National Cooperative Day Celebration
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto attended the peak celebration of the 79th National Cooperative Day (Harkopnas) at the Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, on Sunday. The President entered the Indonesia Arena at around 2.15 p.m. Western Indonesia Time, wearing a light brown safari suit, black trousers, and a black peci cap. His arrival was accompanied by the song ‘Dari Sabang sampai Merauke’, with all participants joining in singing, causing the venue to reverberate. Upon entering the arena, President Prabowo greeted the invited guests, from those in the upper stands to those seated in additional chairs in the centre of the venue. Accompanying the President at the celebration were Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani, and Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency Nusron Wahid. Also in attendance were Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Trade Budi Santoso, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. The peak celebration of National Cooperative Day carried the theme ‘Empowered Cooperatives, A Victorious Indonesia’. This year’s commemoration serves as a momentum to launch the cooperative movement, coinciding with the operational phase of the Merah Putih Village and Sub-district Cooperatives (KDKMP). In addition to the peak celebration on 12 July, the Ministry of Cooperatives has prepared a series of follow-up activities, including the groundbreaking for the renovation of the historic building where the first Cooperative Congress was held in Tasikmalaya, West Java. The building holds historical significance as the venue for the first Cooperative Congress on 12 July 1947, which later became the date designated as National Cooperative Day. Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono stated that the building would be renovated in collaboration with the Tasikmalaya City Government to be designated as a cultural heritage site and utilised as a centre for cooperative-related activities.
