Prabowo at PAN Anniversary: I Come as a Brother

I stand here as President, formally as President. I stand here as your brother. I would much prefer to be regarded as your brother, as your elder brother.

“I stand here as President, formally as President. I stand to stand here as your brother. I would much prefer to be regarded as your brother, as your elder brother,” said Prabowo during his speech in Jakarta on Friday.

Prabowo made these remarks as the PAN anniversary celebrations took place in a warm, familial atmosphere, free from formal barriers. He expressed a preference for speaking candidly when surrounded by true comrades who have long accompanied his journey.

“Discipline is my breath. Loyalty is my soul. Honour is everything,” Prabowo stated, quoting the motto of his senior officers from his military background. He noted that the primary loyalty held by all elements of the nation must be loyalty to the state and the people.

In his speech, Prabowo also outlined several government development programmes, including the construction of more than 1,000 kilometres of irrigation networks and thousands of bridges across various regions. He also mentioned the government’s efforts to provide digital smart screens in schools to expand Indonesian children’s access to knowledge.

Furthermore, the government is designing the development of fishing villages equipped with various facilities, such as cold storage, warehouses, public petrol stations, and assistance with fishing vessels.
