JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto has stressed that law in Indonesia should not be fair only to those who have a lot of money. The assertion was made during a plenary session presenting the Macro-Economic Framework (KER) and the Basic Principles of Fiscal Policy (PPKF) for the RAPBN 2027, at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 20 May 2026.

“The law should apply fairly for all, especially ensuring justice for the most vulnerable. Let there not be a law that is fair only to the powerful and to those who have a lot of money,” Prabowo said on Wednesday.

He wants to see Indonesia where society lives in harmony, in peace, and has adequate clothing, food, and housing.

“We want an Indonesia that is prosperous, peaceful, and abundant,” Prabowo said.

In addition, Prabowo emphasised that improving teachers’ welfare must be one of the government’s priorities.

“Improving the living conditions of teachers must be our priority,” Prabowo said.

Prabowo also expressed hopes that farmers and fishermen can live more prosperously. He said that fishermen have long risked their lives to supply protein for the population.
