President Prabowo Subianto has emphasised the role of the Forest Area Law Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH) as the spearhead in safeguarding national wealth, having successfully recovered approximately Rp400 trillion by reclaiming areas used for illegal mining and plantations.

“Our wealth is vast, and our natural resources are abundant. Our duty is to protect and manage them, and the spearhead for this is the PKH Task Force. Thank you, PKH Task Force,” said President Prabowo Subianto. He made these remarks while providing guidance during the symbolic handover of fines and proceeds from forest area law enforcement actions from the PKH Task Force to the state at the Attorney General’s Office building in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He highlighted that since its formation in 2025, the PKH Task Force has successfully reclaimed 6.2 million hectares of forest areas used for mining and plantations, many of which were operating illegally.

Prabowo also noted that since 2025, the Task Force has transferred Rp52 trillion to the state via the Ministry of Finance, generated from fines, non-tax state revenue (PNBP), and tax revenues.

“What you are doing is saving our children and grandchildren. The millions of hectares you have saved, the illegal mines you have closed and reclaimed for the state, are the nation’s savings. You are increasing the nation’s savings for the future of our children and grandchildren,” he stated.

For the eighth handover stage today, 259,230.73 hectares of plantation and mining areas have been reclaimed. Of that amount, 140,762 hectares of former plantation land have been handed over to the Ministry of Forestry to be managed by Agrinas Palma Nusantara; 118,256.74 hectares falling within conservation and protected forest areas will undergo reforestation under the coordination of the Ministry of Forestry; and 211.95 hectares from mining activities have also been returned to the Ministry of Forestry.

In total, the PKH Task Force has reclaimed forest areas spanning 6,206,212.14 hectares used for plantations and 14,633.79 hectares used for mining activities.
