Prabowo asks TNI generals to sing for Miangas residents
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto requested Vice Chief of the Indonesian National Armed Forces General TNI Tandyo Budi, Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal TNI Tonny Harjono, and Army Deputy Chief of Staff Lieutenant General TNI Saleh Mustafa to sing and entertain the people of Miangas Island. During a working visit to Miangas in the Talaud Islands, North Sulawesi, on Saturday, in front of residents and students of SMKN 2 Talaud on Miangas Island, President Prabowo introduced one by one the members of the Merah Putih Cabinet ministers and TNI personnel who joined in inspecting health and education facilities. Prabowo stated that the figures he brought were not only skilled in their jobs but also had talents in other fields, one of which is singing. “These figures generally have exceptional qualities. Have you ever seen a four-star general sing? Mr Tonny, accompanied by the three-star Army general, come on, sing first for the people. Generals shouldn’t always be saluting. Generals must occasionally entertain the people,” said President Prabowo as monitored through the live broadcast of the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta on Saturday. President Prabowo then asked Chief of Air Force Marshal Tonny to sing the song “Rayuan Pulau Kelapa”. Tonny then sang according to the President’s instructions, followed by the attending residents. Next, President asked Marshal Tonny to perform “Sio Mama”, followed by “Indonesia Pusaka” and “Rasa Sayange”. President Prabowo then shared that his mother is from Minahasa, North Sulawesi. Therefore, Prabowo also requested that the song “O Ina Ni Keke” be performed. “I request the singing of ‘O Ina Ni Keke’ because my mother is from Minahasa, from Manado,” said Prabowo. After singing together, the song “Tabola Bale” was played. President Prabowo then danced along with the ministers and the community. President Prabowo’s visit to Miangas also served as a momentum to affirm equitable national development, particularly improving the quality of basic health services through the revitalisation of puskesmas across Indonesia. In addition, the President will carry out school revitalisation and provide supporting facilities such as digital learning panels, telecommunications devices, and free internet for schools.
