Prabowo Asks Nanik Deyang to Continue Overseeing BGN Despite Resignation

Nanik S. Deyang has resigned as head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) to undergo heart treatment abroad. Nanik revealed that President Prabowo Subianto asked her to continue overseeing the BGN.

“I conveyed to the president, with a thousand apologies, that I felt I had to resign as head of the BGN for the sake of my health, and because the president was concerned and felt sorry for me, he agreed, but asked me to continue overseeing the BGN,” Nanik said on her official Facebook account on Wednesday (22/7/2026).

Nanik said Prabowo will also form a supervisory board. She revealed that Prabowo asked her to become the Chair of the BGN Supervisory Board.

“The president will likely form a supervisory board where I am asked to be the chair (I can probably still nag, as long as it doesn’t involve handling money, I swear I have acute trauma),” she said.

Nanik also disclosed her successor as Head of BGN. For now, Nanik said she wants to focus on her health.

“God willing, my successor is ‘my younger sibling’, whom I can tweak the ear of if any irregularities occur. I will concentrate on my health first, friends,” she said.
