President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Washington DC, United States, on Tuesday (17 February) at approximately 12.00 local time after Garuda Indonesia aircraft PK-GIF landed at Joint Base Andrews, Prince George's County, Maryland.

On the tarmac, near the aircraft steps, a number of Indonesian and American officials welcomed President Prabowo's arrival, including Indonesian Ambassador to the United States Dwisuryo Indroyono Soesilo, Defence Attaché at the Indonesian Embassy in Washington DC Air Vice-Marshal E Wisoko Aribowo, and Commander of the VVIP/VIP Aircraft Maintenance Group of the US Air Force at Joint Base Andrews Colonel Gary Charland.

In the United States, President Prabowo is scheduled to attend three engagements: a meeting with American business leaders on Wednesday (18 February), the inaugural Board of Peace (BoP) summit on Gaza on Thursday (19 February), and a bilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump, during which the two leaders are expected to sign an agreement on reciprocal trade (ART), negotiations for which have been ongoing since 2025.

During the flight from Jakarta, President Prabowo was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia.

After descending from the aircraft, President Prabowo, wearing his signature black kopiah, immediately greeted the officials who had come to welcome him, beginning with the Indonesian Ambassador to the US, the US Air Force group commander, and the Indonesian Defence Attaché in Washington DC.

President Prabowo then entered the presidential vehicle, escorted directly by the Presidential Security Detail and several members of the United States Secret Service.

President Prabowo and the accompanying delegation of state officials who had welcomed his arrival at Joint Base Andrews subsequently continued their journey to a hotel in central Washington DC.

Regarding the BoP agenda, the inaugural summit will be chaired directly by US President Donald Trump Jr. as its initiator.

Several White House officials stated last week that the BoP summit is planned for 19 February 2026.

In addition to President Prabowo, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has also confirmed his attendance at the inaugural BoP summit in Washington DC.

Indonesia officially became a member of the Board of Peace after President Prabowo Subianto co-signed the organisation's founding charter at its launch event in Davos, Switzerland, on 22 January 2026.

Besides Indonesia, other countries that signed the Board of Peace charter include the United States as its initiator, followed by Hungary, Bahrain, Morocco, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Egypt, Jordan, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Kosovo, Mongolia, Pakistan, Paraguay, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Uzbekistan.
