Prabowo Arrives in the United Arab Emirates to Meet President MBZ

President Prabowo Subianto continued his series of state visits to the United Arab Emirates with a meeting with President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ). The meeting was intended to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

According to a statement from the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat received in Jakarta on Thursday, Prabowo and his entourage arrived at the Presidential Flight Airport, Abu Dhabi, on Wednesday afternoon local time on board the Garuda Indonesia-1 presidential aircraft.

Upon arrival in Abu Dhabi, the President was greeted by UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Al Mazrouei, Indonesian Ambassador to the UAE Judha Nugraha, UAE Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulla Salem Obaid Salem AlDaheri, and Defence Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Brigadier General Tony Aris Setiawan.

The welcoming ceremony was accompanied by a guard of honour on the side of the runway, reflecting the UAE government’s respect for the visit of the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

From the airport, Prabowo and his entourage went straight to the hotel where they will stay during their stay in Abu Dhabi.

During this visit, the President is scheduled to meet with MBZ as part of efforts to strengthen the strategic partnership between Indonesia and the UAE.

The visit is expected to further strengthen the existing bilateral relations, as well as reaffirm Indonesia’s commitment to expanding global cooperation that is mutually beneficial. (Ant/E-3)
