JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Seoul, South Korea, on Tuesday (31/3/2026) as part of an official state visit after completing his trip to Tokyo, Japan.

According to a press release from the Presidential Secretariat, the Garuda Indonesia-1 aircraft carrying President Prabowo landed at Seongnam Military Air Base around 7:15 p.m. local time.

Upon arrival in Seoul, President Prabowo received an official welcome through a honour ceremony.

The welcoming procession was accompanied by 21 cannon salvos as a mark of state honour.

After receiving the honour ceremony, Prabowo was greeted by the Minister of Climate, Energy, and Environment of the Republic of Korea, Kim Sungwhan, the Designated Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Indonesia, Yoon Soongu, and the Head of State Protocol of the Republic of Korea, Kim Tae-jin.

During his stay in Seoul, Prabowo is scheduled to undertake a series of official state visits, including a welcoming ceremony by the President of the Republic of Korea at the Blue House.

This visit is expected to further strengthen friendly relations and strategic partnerships between Indonesia and the Republic of Korea, as well as open up broader and mutually beneficial cooperation opportunities in the future.

Previously, President Prabowo and his entourage departed from Haneda Airport in Tokyo, Japan, at 5:15 p.m. local time after conducting a series of official visits, including a state call with Emperor Naruhito of Japan and a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
