Prabowo Arrives in Indonesia Welcomed by Vice President Gibran
President Prabowo Subianto has concluded his series of state visits to Russia and France. Prabowo arrived back in Indonesia on Wednesday afternoon, 15 April 2026.
A live broadcast from the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel showed the Head of State and his entourage landing at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta. Prabowo was seen wearing a light brown safari shirt and a dark blue cap.
From the bottom of the presidential aircraft’s stairs, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka welcomed Prabowo’s arrival. In addition to Gibran, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Head of the State Intelligence Agency Muhammad Herindra also greeted the President’s arrival.
Prabowo was seen shaking hands with the welcoming officials. Prabowo and his aides briefly conversed for a few moments.
Afterwards, Prabowo entered the presidential vehicle. The white Maung SUV with the RI 1 licence plate then departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base.
President Prabowo carried out a brief two-day visit to the two countries, namely Russia and France. On 13 April 2026, Prabowo visited the Kremlin Palace in Moscow to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In the meeting, which lasted a total of five hours, Prabowo and Putin discussed enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including energy, space, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, education, and trade. Prabowo also consulted with Putin regarding the global geopolitical situation.
After undergoing an intensive meeting with Putin in Moscow, Prabowo continued his state visit to Paris, France. Prabowo arrived in Paris on Monday evening, 13 April 2026, at 23.50 local time.
Prabowo held a tête-à-tête meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris on Tuesday afternoon, 14 April 2026.
President Prabowo and Macron, in that meeting, discussed issues related to strengthening bilateral cooperation in several sectors. The cooperation included defence equipment procurement and strengthening the defence industry, energy transition and development of new renewable energy, infrastructure and transportation, as well as education and the creative economy.
