President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, arrived at the Indian Air Force (AFS) Palam base in New Delhi, India, on Friday (11/09/2026) evening local time. The President’s arrival is intended for attending the 18th BRICS Summit, which is scheduled to take place on 12-13 September 2026.

President Prabowo’s arrival was met with a formal guard of honour on the red carpet at the AFS Palam apron. The Indian government dispatched the Minister of Coal and Mines, Satish Chandra Dubey, to personally welcome the Head of State at the aircraft stairs.

During this working visit to New Delhi, President Prabowo is accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. Following a brief welcoming ceremony and discussions on the apron, the President and his limited delegation proceeded directly to their hotel.

After welcoming President Prabowo, Minister Satish Chandra Dubey emphasised that Indonesia’s presence within the BRICS cooperation framework holds strategic significance for strengthening the axis of developing nations (the Global South).

“India and Indonesia, as key partners among developing nations and the Indo-Pacific region, both choose an approach of cooperation, inclusive growth, and shared prosperity,” stated Satish Chandra Dubey in an official release on Friday (11/09).

Dubey added that a robust partnership between Indonesia and India within BRICS will voice shared aspirations to realise a more equitable and inclusive global governance.
