Prabowo Arrives in Aceh Tamiang Ahead of Eid Prayers

President Prabowo Subianto is to perform Eid prayers in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh. Prabowo arrived in Aceh Tamiang after departing from Medan, North Sumatra, this morning.

Observations by detikcom on Saturday (21/3/2026) showed Prabowo arriving at the runway of Battalion 111, Aceh Tamiang, at 06.45 WIB. Prabowo was accompanied by Minister Secretary to the State Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Prabowo and the ministers were seen wearing white koko shirts complete with peci caps. Prabowo is scheduled to perform Eid prayers at Masjid Darussalam, Aceh Tamiang.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya explained the reason for President Prabowo performing Eid prayers in Aceh. He stated that Prabowo would also check the progress of recovery in the disaster-affected area.

“So tomorrow (Saturday) morning, we all fly to Aceh (from Medan). Eid prayers there, together with the people of Aceh in particular. And also to check,” said Teddy during a visit in Medan, North Sumatra, on Friday (20/3/2026) night.

It is known that Prabowo is scheduled to carry out a series of Idul Fitri activities in two different regions in Sumatra. He participated in the takbiran night in North Sumatra and continued with Idul Fitri prayers in Aceh on Saturday, 21 March.

This year marks the second Eid for Prabowo and Gibran Rakabuming as president and vice president. In 2025, Prabowo and Gibran performed Idul Fitri prayers at Masjid Istiqlal, Jakarta.
