Prabowo Arrives at Soewondo Air Base in Medan Ahead of Takbiran Night

President Prabowo Subianto arrived at Soewondo Air Base in Medan, North Sumatra, this afternoon. Prabowo will observe Takbiran night in Medan and continue with Eid al-Fitr prayers in Aceh tomorrow morning.

Prabowo and his entourage departed from TNI AU Halim Perdanakusuma Base in Jakarta on Friday (20/3/2026) around 3:00 p.m. WIB. Accompanying President Prabowo on the flight to Medan were State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono.

Observations by detikcom indicate that Prabowo arrived at Soewondo Air Base aboard the presidential aircraft Garuda at 4:55 p.m. WIB. Upon disembarking, Prabowo and his entourage boarded vehicles and left the location.

It is known that Prabowo is scheduled to carry out a series of Eid al-Fitr activities in two different regions on the island of Sumatra. He will observe Takbiran night in North Sumatra and proceed with Eid al-Fitr prayers in Aceh the following day.

“Yes, that’s correct; the President will observe Takbiran night in North Sumatra and, God willing, perform Eid al-Fitr prayers in Aceh tomorrow morning,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

This year marks the second Eid for Prabowo and Gibran Rakabuming as president and vice president. In 2025, Prabowo and Gibran performed Eid al-Fitr prayers at Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta.
