Prabowo Arrives at Imperial Palace in Tokyo Welcomed by Japanese Emperor
President Prabowo Subianto is undertaking his first official visit to Japan. Prabowo met with Emperor Naruhito at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo today.
Observations from detikcom on Monday (30/3/2026) indicate that Prabowo arrived at the Imperial Palace at 11:40 local time. Prabowo was seen wearing a complete black suit with a peci.
Prabowo was immediately warmly welcomed by Emperor Naruhito upon alighting from the presidential vehicle. The two then shook hands and engaged in light conversation while walking into the Palace.
Cabinet members accompanying Prabowo on this visit include Foreign Minister Sugiono, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Ragowo Hadiprasetyo or Didit Prabowo.
It is known that Prabowo is conducting several activities during his first official visit to Japan. Prabowo is scheduled to attend a Business Forum at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo.
Prabowo will also meet with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi at Akasaka Palace in Tokyo tomorrow. This meeting is expected to serve as a strategic opportunity to strengthen cooperation in various fields, including investment, energy, maritime affairs, and digital.
