President Prabowo Subianto visited victims of the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek train accident with the KRL who are being treated at Bekasi City Hospital. After visiting the victims, Prabowo stated that he has approved the construction of a flyover near Bekasi Timur Station, the site of the accident.

“Bekasi has proposed building a flyover because Bekasi is also dense, and the railway needs are very important and urgent, so I have approved the immediate construction of the flyover,” said Prabowo in Bekasi on Tuesday (28/4/2026).

He said the flyover funding would come from the central government. He mentioned that the construction of the flyover would be sourced from presidential assistance.

“Directly from presidential assistance,” he said.

Previously, the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek crashed into a stationary KRL at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday (27/4) night. The incident began with a taxi becoming stuck under the KRL at a crossing not far from Bekasi Timur Station.

The taxi becoming stuck under the KRL caused the KRL at Bekasi Station to wait. The KA Argo Bromo Anggrek then arrived and collided from behind. The incident resulted in seven people dead.
