Investment Minister and Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani met with President Prabowo Subianto to discuss the acceleration of the downstream processing programme.

Rosan stated that the next phase of the downstream processing programme will be built in 13 locations in Indonesia. The incoming investments will be focused on several key sectors, such as waste to energy, mineral resources, agricultural industry, labour-intensive industries, and the garment sector.

“Thank you, Mr President Prabowo, for the guidance today in Hambalang regarding the progress of the downstream processing programme, which will next be built in 13 locations in Indonesia,” said Rosan in an Instagram post @rosanroeslani, quoted on Saturday (25/4/2026).

According to Rosan, downstream processing is no longer limited to the energy and mineral sectors. The government is now promoting expansion into the agriculture and fisheries sectors.

Rosan added that this step is expected to attract more quality investments, open up new job opportunities, and stimulate the national industry to become increasingly competitive at the global level.

“Downstream processing is not only in the fields of energy and minerals, but also expanded to the agriculture and fisheries sectors. Investments in Indonesia, God willing, will increasingly add value, open up more jobs, and stimulate the national industry to become increasingly competitive,” explained Rosan.
