Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - President Prabowo Subianto has instructed his subordinates to immediately build a flyover on the level railway crossing in Bekasi City, West Java Province. The order was given by Prabowo following the deadly accident between the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek and KRL Commuter Line trains on Monday night (27/4/2025).

Prabowo explained that the government will promptly conduct an investigation into the accident. However, in broad terms, Prabowo highlighted the many unguarded railway crossings.

“We will address it. The Bekasi regional government has proposed building a flyover because Bekasi is also densely populated and the railway needs are very important and urgent. So I have already approved the construction of the flyover directly with presidential assistance,” said Prabowo.

As is known, the accident between the Argo Bromo Anggrek train and the Commuter Line train occurred at Bekasi Timur Station, Bekasi City, West Java, on Monday (27/4/2025) at around 20:55 WIB. The incident resulted in seven people dead and dozens injured due to the collision.

On the same occasion, there was another incident on the same line, where a KRL hit a taxi at a crossing near Bekasi Timur Station. It is believed that this triggered the chain of disruptions leading to the collision.
