Prabowo: Approaching Two Years in Government, We Have Worked Very Hard

Jakarta, VIVA – President Prabowo Subianto personally chaired a plenary cabinet session at the State Palace on Monday, 20 July 2026. The entire line-up of Red-and-White Cabinet ministers and agency leaders attended to hear the evaluation and guidance from the head of state.

Prabowo stressed that the cabinet session was held to evaluate the entire range of government programmes as his leadership approaches its second year.

“Of course we are holding this plenary cabinet session so that we can evaluate what we have accomplished,” said Prabowo.

“I believe it is not only you, my colleagues, but myself as well. In these years, approaching our second anniversary, we have worked extremely hard, very intensively and at great speed,” he continued.

He explained that Indonesia has achieved a great deal as his leadership nears the two-year mark. This, he said, is because the entire Red-and-White Cabinet has worked very hard and quickly.

“Sometimes, when we work so hard and so intensively, we ourselves do not fully realise how much we have achieved in our first two years,” he said.

At the same time, he acknowledged that Indonesia faces enormous challenges. Prabowo also noted that the world is currently in a state of unpredictable turmoil.

“Because we are confronting very large problems, we are facing a world full of upheaval, and we are also facing bitter realities that we must acknowledge. These are our shared challenges; we have no intention of looking for someone to blame,” he said.

He emphasised that every element of leadership must give its best to the public, because all leaders, including himself, have been given a mandate and the trust of the people.

“As children of this nation, as elements of leadership, all of us here as elements of leadership — we are political leaders, technocratic leaders, cultural leaders, community leaders — we have been given a mandate by the people to confront and resolve these problems,” he said.
