Prabowo Appreciates Nearly 100 Percent Recovery in Aceh Tamiang
ACEH TAMIANG, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto has appreciated the accelerated post-disaster recovery in Aceh Tamiang Regency, which has now reached nearly 100 percent.
The President conveyed this after performing Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah prayers with the community at Masjid Darussalam, which is part of the Temporary Housing (Huntara) area in the Kebun Tj. Seumantoh region, Karang Baru Subdistrict, on Saturday (21/3/2026).
In addition to the availability of housing, he also ensured that basic infrastructure, such as electricity and social assistance, has been fully distributed to the community.
“Alhamdulillah, there are no more tents; everyone has moved out 100 percent. All have entered temporary or permanent housing,” said President Prabowo in his press statement.
Prabowo continued that electricity availability is almost fully operational, with only five villages remaining across Aceh due to challenging terrain, and all assistance has been delivered to the people.
This successful rapid transition from the emergency phase to recovery is fully supported by PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) along with several BUMN Karya under Danantara’s coordination.
This area is designed as a self-sufficient environment with each housing unit measuring 4.5 metres x 4.5 metres, meeting the minimum standards of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).
The Huntara area not only serves as a shelter but is also equipped with integrated social facilities and supporting utilities.
To support residents’ daily activities, Hutama Karya has ensured the availability of adequate sanitation facilities, communal kitchens, washing areas, and internet networks.
Residents’ spiritual needs are also met through the presence of Masjid Darussalam, which serves as a centre for worship activities during the Eid al-Fitr momentum.
In addition to housing aspects, Hutama Karya has ensured the recovery of basic services through the Rantau Water Treatment Plant Operation, capable of supplying clean water at a capacity of 40 litres per second.
Acting Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary of Hutama Karya, Hamdani, stated that all facilities in the Huntara area are fully functional to help the community recover more quickly.
“Our focus is to ensure that the people of Aceh Tamiang can celebrate this day of victory with a sense of safety and comfort. The Huntara we have built is equipped with electricity, clean water, and adequate internal road access,” explained Hamdani.
The presence of complete facilities is a tangible manifestation of Hutama Karya’s commitment to always contribute the best to the community in every disaster response.
Through this collaboration, the government has proven its commitment to restoring the social and economic life of affected communities.
