Prabowo Appoints Sudaryono as Head of National Nutrition Agency

President Prabowo Subianto has officially inaugurated Sudaryono as the new Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) in a ceremony at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, 22 July 2026. The inauguration was attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, ministers from the Merah Putih Cabinet, and other senior state officials.

Sudaryono was entrusted to lead the National Nutrition Agency, replacing Nanik S Deyang who stepped down from the position due to health reasons. The ceremony was conducted in a solemn atmosphere, with the presence of officials who have been involved in implementing the government’s priority programmes, including the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG).

Among the notable attendees were the Minister of Defence, the Coordinating Ministers, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, the Minister of State Secretary, the Chief of the Presidential Staff, the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, the Attorney General, the National Police Chief, the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, and the Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency.

The inauguration procession began with the singing of the national anthem, Indonesia Raya, followed by the reading of Presidential Decree Number 78/P of 2026 regarding the appointment of Sudaryono as Head of the National Nutrition Agency. President Prabowo then led the oath-taking ceremony. Sudaryono swore to remain loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, to uphold all laws and regulations with integrity, and to perform his duties with full responsibility and ethical conduct. The ceremony concluded with the signing of the official inauguration record, witnessed by President Prabowo Subianto.
