President Prabowo Subianto has expressed his appreciation for the performance of the Indonesian police, which has successfully kept the number of terrorist acts at zero in recent years. According to records from the National Counterterrorism Agency, zero terrorism has been recorded from 2023 to the present.

This was revealed during the commemoration ceremony for the 80th Bhayangkara Day in 2026, at the Mobile Brigade Corps Training Centre in Cikeas, Bogor, on Wednesday (1/7/2026).

"As well as successfully maintaining zero terrorism incidents over the last few years. This is an achievement we need to appreciate, but I also say and remind you not to be careless, never be easily satisfied," he stressed.

He also appreciated the success of the National Police, together with other institutions, in uncovering thousands of narcotics cases and, with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, in eradicating online gambling.

In his speech, he also revealed that the Indonesian National Police have been involved in building thousands of SPPG for the Free Nutritious Meal programme. This is proof that the police can step in to assist important government programmes.

Prabowo also stated that the challenges facing the National Police remain significant, one of which is the persistent spectre of poverty. Poverty in Indonesia is triggered by corruption and financial leakages. Therefore, Prabowo advised that the law in the country must be upheld because Indonesia is a state based on law.

The law, Prabowo said, must provide protection to the people. The law must not be sharp downwards but blunt upwards, meaning it should not only defend powerful and wealthy groups.

"There must be no abuse of authority and no one must be immune to the law. Those who are right must feel safe, those who are wrong must be held accountable for their actions," he stressed.

On that occasion, Prabowo also conferred the Tanda Kehormatan Republik Indonesia. The Nugraha Sakanti award was presented to 11 work units and regional police forces, namely Polda Metro Jaya, Polda Banten, Polda North Sumatra, Polda Riau, Polda Lampung, Polda Central Java, Polda West Java, Polda Central Kalimantan, Polda East Java, the Police Legal Division, and the Police Finance Centre.

Meanwhile, the Bintang Bhayangkara Narariya was awarded to Senior Superintendent Dr. Prasetiyo Adhi Wibowo, Police Inspector Nengsi Marline Waromy, and Chief Police Brigadier Wawan Setiyawan.

In addition, the National Police Chief also conferred the Public Safety and Security Honour Medal Loka Praja Samrakshana upon the President of the Republic of Indonesia.
