Prabowo Apologises to NU as Many Pesantren Yet to Receive Interactive Panel Screens
President Prabowo Subianto has apologised to Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) because many schools and pesantren under the organisation have not yet received interactive panel screen assistance. Prabowo said he had only just learned of the situation.
“I would like to apologise to Nahdlatul Ulama. I apologise because I have only just learned that many schools and pesantren under Nahdlatul Ulama have not received interactive panel screens,” Prabowo said while opening the 35th NU Congress at Bahrul Ulum Islamic Boarding School in Tambakberas, Jombang, East Java, on Thursday (27/8/2026).
He did not blame Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti, explaining that the ministry only manages state schools. Schools under NU, he said, fall under the coordination of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
“The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Mr Abdul Mu’ti, is not at fault because the ministry manages state schools. Schools under NU are managed by the Minister of Religious Affairs, that is correct,” he said.
Going forward, Prabowo assured that NU schools will receive interactive panel screen facilities just as state schools do.
“There is no problem. Although delayed, every classroom in NU schools will receive interactive panels, the same as all state schools,” he said.
He noted that in the previous year, all state schools had received one interactive panel screen for each classroom. This year, state schools will receive an additional three panels.
NU schools, Prabowo said, will soon receive four interactive panel screens at once.
“Last year all state schools received one panel per classroom. This year all state schools will receive an additional three, but NU will soon receive four directly. So my debt to NU has been somewhat fulfilled,” he said.
