President Prabowo Subianto has announced that the Free Health Screening (CKG) programme has reached 108 million people as of June 2026. The programme, which began in February 2025, is now available through 10,305 community health centres (Puskesmas) across all 38 provinces.

In his state address at the MPR Annual Session and Joint Session of the DPR and DPD on Friday, 14 August 2026, Prabowo emphasised the importance of early detection. He noted that some citizens are still reluctant to undergo check-ups for fear of discovering an illness. “We want this to improve further. There are still people who are afraid to have health checks, afraid to find out what illness they have,” Prabowo said.

Beyond the screening programme, the government is also working to reduce healthcare inequality by upgrading facilities. Prabowo stated that 66 regional general hospitals (RSUD) in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost regions have been renovated. Additionally, 20 newly built regional hospitals have commenced operations. The President also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continuing the National Health Insurance (JKN) programme, particularly for underprivileged communities.
