Cabinet Secretary Prasetyo Hadi outlined plans for the signing of a trade tariff cooperation agreement between the Indonesian and United States governments. The signing is scheduled for tomorrow.

Prasetyo initially noted that President Prabowo Subianto had departed for the US to attend an inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace. In addition, the agenda includes the signing of a trade tariff agreement with US President Donald Trump.

“He is attending an invitation regarding the BoP meeting, and through coordination between the two nations, one of the additional agenda items is, God willing, the signing of a trade tariff agreement with the US government,” Prasetyo said after a meeting with House of Representatives leaders at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (18 February 2026).

“The signing is planned for the 19th [of February], if the schedule holds. After the BoP, there will then be the tariff cooperation signing,” he added.

Prasetyo said that, for the time being, there had been no changes to the content of the agreement from previous discussions. However, he expressed hope for positive developments during the meeting between Prabowo and Trump.

“For now, there have been no changes. But of course, let us all hope that perhaps during the meeting between President Prabowo and President Trump there will be changes that benefit our nation and country,” he said.

Prasetyo expressed hope for more favourable figures, though he acknowledged that the final outcome would depend on the negotiation process.

“Our hope is naturally that it would go down. Who knows,” he said.

Prabowo is known to have already arrived in the US to meet President Donald Trump. The two leaders are set to discuss economic cooperation, including trade tariff negotiations.

According to the Presidential Secretariat Bureau, the Garuda Indonesia-1 aircraft carrying Prabowo and his entourage landed at Joint Base Andrews, Washington DC, on Tuesday (17 February) at 11.55 local time.

At the foot of the aircraft stairs, Prabowo was greeted by Indonesian Ambassador to the United States Dwisuryo Indroyono Soesilo, Indonesian Defence Attaché in Washington Air Vice Marshal E. Wisoko Aribowo, and Maintenance Group Commander Colonel Gary Charland.
