Prabowo and Thai PM Hold Bilateral Talks at Merdeka Palace
President Prabowo Subianto and Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul held a tête-à-tête meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday to discuss a range of bilateral cooperation issues. As part of his visit to Jakarta, Prime Minister Charnvirakul proceeded directly to the Merdeka Palace after landing at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base. A motorcade of vehicles and Presidential Security Force (Paspampres) outriders escorted the Prime Minister’s car from Halim Perdanakusuma to the palace. Upon reaching the Medan Merdeka area, a mounted unit from Paspampres joined the escort as the vehicle entered the palace grounds. Following the ceremonial welcome, Prime Minister Charnvirakul introduced the Thai government officials in his delegation, after which President Prabowo introduced his own delegation, which included Foreign Minister Sugiono, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman. After the tête-à-tête meeting at the Merdeka Palace, President Prabowo and Prime Minister Charnvirakul jointly led a bilateral meeting. The two leaders then witnessed the exchange of several signed cooperation documents. This was followed by a joint press statement. The final agenda of the Thai Prime Minister’s official visit was a dinner hosted by President Prabowo for the Prime Minister and his delegation at the palace.
