Prabowo and Singapore PM to Sign 26 MoUs
President Prabowo Subianto will receive a visit from Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday, 6 June 2026. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the two leaders will sign a number of memoranda of understanding (MoUs). According to Teddy, this meeting is a regular agenda between the heads of state of Indonesia and Singapore. “It is the annual meeting between the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the Prime Minister of Singapore,” Teddy told reporters on Monday. He conveyed that President Prabowo and PM Wong would agree on several cooperation plans. However, Teddy did not disclose the details of these agreements. “There will be 26 agreements or MoUs to be signed later,” said the Army officer with the rank of lieutenant colonel. PM Wong will attend the annual Singapore-Indonesia Leaders’ Retreat in Jakarta on Monday. This event marks the second occasion, following the last Leaders’ Retreat when Prabowo met Wong in Singapore in 2025. Prime Minister Wong will be accompanied on his visit to Jakarta by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, Coordinating Minister for Public Services and Minister for Defence Chan Shun Sing, and Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan. Additionally, Wong will be joined by Minister for Social and Family Development Masagos Zulkifli and Minister for Manpower and Minister responsible for Energy and Science & Technology Tan See Leng. On Monday, 16 June 2025, President Prabowo Subianto and Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong cemented a new partnership during the annual Leaders’ Retreat held at Parliament House in Singapore. The inaugural meeting between the two leaders resulted in 19 strategic cross-sector agreements, ranging from defence to green energy. At that time, President Prabowo described the Leaders’ Retreat as a highly productive and successful forum. In a joint press conference, he affirmed that he and PM Wong had held a one-on-one discussion and agreed on concrete cooperation.
