Prabowo and Singapore PM Lawrence Wong to Discuss 26 Agreements at Leaders' Retreat
Sekretaris Kabinet Teddy Indra Wijaya revealed that the annual meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will result in dozens of cooperation agreements. According to Teddy, the Indonesia-Singapore Leaders’ Retreat will see the signing of 26 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) as a follow-up to strengthening bilateral relations. “The annual meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. There will also be 26 agreements or MoUs to be signed later,” Teddy said in a statement on Monday (6/7). The signing of these dozens of agreements is one of the main agendas of the second annual meeting between the two heads of government. The agreements are expected to further strengthen strategic cooperation between the two countries in various sectors while reinforcing the already close bilateral relations. Quoted from the website of the Singapore Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong is visiting Jakarta on 6 July 2026 to attend the Singapore-Indonesia Leaders’ Retreat hosted by Indonesia. The meeting is the second Leaders’ Retreat for President Prabowo Subianto and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. The agenda reaffirms the commitment of Indonesia and Singapore to continue strengthening their close bilateral relations. During the meeting, the two leaders are scheduled to discuss various cooperation opportunities of mutual interest. They will also receive updates on the progress of various bilateral projects since the last Leaders’ Retreat held in Singapore in June 2025, as well as exchange views on regional and global issues. Lawrence Wong is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, Coordinating Minister for Public Service and Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Social and Family Development Masagos Zulkifli, and Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry Tan See Leng.
