Prabowo and PM Anwar Exchange Eid al-Fitr Greetings at Merdeka Palace
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto welcomed the arrival of Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Friday. According to an official statement from the Presidential Secretariat quoted in Jakarta on Friday, Prime Minister Anwar’s visit to Jakarta this time was carried out as a gesture of goodwill on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. The convoy of vehicles carrying Prime Minister Anwar arrived at the grounds of Merdeka Palace at approximately 4:25 p.m. WIB, escorted by 17 motorised troops. On the western side of the Palace, President Prabowo was seen personally giving a warm welcome to Prime Minister Anwar’s arrival beside the vehicle, reflecting honour as well as affirming the closeness between the two national leaders. The strains of the song “Rasa Sayange” played by the music corps also enlivened the welcome for Prime Minister Anwar’s arrival. Prime Minister Anwar even briefly sang along to the song accompanied by the music being played. Subsequently, in the Eid al-Fitr atmosphere full of a sense of togetherness, President Prabowo and Prime Minister Anwar appeared to converse amiably while walking side by side into Merdeka Palace. There, the two leaders then held a meeting that not only served as a space to strengthen bilateral relations but also reflected the closeness of friendship between the two neighbouring national leaders. Prime Minister Anwar’s goodwill visit to Indonesia reflects the strength of the friendship ties between the two regional leaders. This close relationship is hoped to further solidify the continuity of harmonious, stable, and mutually strengthening relations between Indonesia and Malaysia amid regional and global dynamics.
