Prabowo and Modi Support Two-State Solution for Palestine

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subimanto and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have urged the resolution of the Middle East conflict through dialogue and a Two-State Solution for Palestine.

“Both countries continue to support dialogue, diplomacy, and international law to resolve conflicts peacefully in the Middle East region,” stated Prabowo in a joint statement following a bilateral meeting at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday.

Prabowo noted that Indonesia and India share aligned views on the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully by prioritising dialogue, diplomacy, and respect for international law.

“PM Modi and I continue to support various efforts to advance global peace and stability and to ensure that the voices of the Global South are heard,” said Prabowo.

In addition to discussing Middle East issues, the two leaders also exchanged views on various regional and global matters.

Prabowo stated that Indonesia and India remain committed to realising an Indo-Pacific region that is free, open, transparent, and based on international law, while upholding the centrality of ASEAN.

“Regarding the issue of Palestine, we support the Two-State Solution and a sustainable, long-term peace,” said Modi.

On this occasion, Modi also expressed his confidence in the prospects of Indonesia-India relations, supported by the historical and cultural closeness of both nations.

“The benefits of a golden era lie ahead of us. Our history is rooted in the shared culture we possess. Our presence, mutual trust, and our future will also be characterised by shared prosperity,” said Modi.
