Prabowo and Modi Agree on Cross-Border QRIS-UPI Payment Integration

President Prabowo Subianto and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have agreed to advance discussions on a cross-border payment system based on QR codes between Indonesia and India. The agreement was reached during a meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday. The cross-border payment integration, linking Indonesia’s Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) with India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI), is part of 20 memoranda of understanding signed to strengthen cooperation across various strategic sectors.
