Prabowo and Megawati Share Laughter at Pancasila Day Ceremony

President Prabowo Subianto and former fifth President Megawati Soekarnoputri displayed camaraderie during the Pancasila Day ceremony at the Pancasila Building, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta on Monday (1 June).

After the ceremony, Prabowo and Megawati left the venue smiling and holding hands.

Earlier, Prabowo entered the ceremony area alongside Megawati, who chairs the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP). Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka was also in attendance.

Prabowo also conversed with several national figures, including former tenth and twelfth Vice Presidents Jusuf Kalla and former thirteenth Vice President Ma’ruf Amin. Present during the discussions were State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

President Prabowo Subianto arrived at the Pancasila Day ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Pancasila Building in Jakarta on Monday (1 June), serving as reviewing officer. Colonel Inf Didin Nasruddin Darsono acted as ceremony commander.

He arrived at 9:35am WIB, wearing a dark blue suit with a songkok and blue tie.

Pancasila Day is annually celebrated on 1 June, commemorating President Sukarno’s 1945 speech to the BPUPKI which outlined the nation’s foundational philosophy.

Also present were members of the Red and White Cabinet, including Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, and Coordinating Minister for Law and Human Rights Yusril Ihza Mahendra.
