Prabowo and Megawati Hold Hands After Pancasila Ceremony

President Prabowo Subianto was seen holding hands with former President Megawati Soekarnoputri after the Pancasila Birth Anniversary Ceremony at the Pancasila Building, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta on Monday (1 June). After serving as the ceremony’s inspector general, Prabowo immediately shook hands with several attending officials. He then approached Megawati and two former vice-presidents, Jusuf Kalla and Ma’ruf Amin, before the group entered the interior of the Pancasila Building. Prabowo walked alongside Jusuf Kalla, K.H. Ma’ruf Amin, and Megawati while conversing. After chatting with Jusuf Kalla and Ma’ruf, Prabowo gestured for Mega to walk ahead, but the PDIP chairman declined, insisting he lead instead. The two briefly hesitated before Mega extended her hand to Prabowo, who accepted it, and they proceeded to walk together, holding hands. Prior to the ceremony, Prabowo had also asked Megawati to walk with him. This occurred when Prabowo, Gibran, and Megawati received a report from the ceremony’s officer inside the Pancasila Building. Prabowo stood at the front with Gibran and Megawati behind him. After receiving the report, Prabowo gestured for Megawati to walk beside him. Megawati declined, however, urging Prabowo to proceed first. He then walked towards the ceremony podium, followed by Gibran and Megawati.
