President Prabowo Subianto and President Alexander Lukashenko have launched the Indonesia–Belarus Bilateral Cooperation Roadmap 2026–2030. The document was announced following a meeting between the two leaders at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, 2 July 2026.

Prabowo stated that the roadmap will serve as a framework for developing relations between the two nations over the next five years. “This roadmap reflects a shared commitment to more directed and concrete cooperation,” Prabowo said during a joint press conference with Lukashenko at the Palace.

According to Prabowo, cooperation between Indonesia and Belarus will be strengthened across various sectors, ranging from agriculture and industry to socio-culture. In the field of food security, both countries agreed to expand cooperation in fertilisers, agricultural tools and technology, and heavy machinery. “Indonesia and Belarus possess complementary potential to strengthen cooperation in modern agriculture, fertilisers, agricultural technology, and heavy equipment,” he noted.

In the economic sector, both nations will also expand partnerships that support their respective national development agendas. The focus includes industrial development, agricultural modernisation, supply chain strengthening, and technological cooperation.

The Chairperson of the Gerindra Party also expressed appreciation for Belarus, which has ratified the free trade agreement between Indonesia and the Eurasian Economic Union. Indonesia is also in the process of completing the ratification of the free trade agreement involving Indonesia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.

In the industrial sector, both countries see opportunities to increase investment and form joint ventures, particularly in manufacturing, automotive, heavy vehicles, and agro-industry. Furthermore, cooperation will be extended to social and cultural sectors, as well as human resource development through cultural exchanges, partnerships between educational institutions, and vocational training.

Prabowo stated that Indonesian and Belarusian delegations also agreed on several cooperation documents regarding health, culture, national accreditation, financial transaction reporting, industry, science and technology, and financial services.

He added that Indonesia and Belarus maintain good relations in the defence sector and expressed hope that the various agreements reached would be implemented promptly. “It is hoped that this cooperation can be implemented immediately to provide tangible benefits for both countries in the near future,” he said.

During the same occasion, President Lukashenko emphasised that Belarus is ready to achieve all targets within the cooperation roadmap through 2030. According to him, food security remains one of the primary priorities.

Lukashenko continued, stating that Belarus is prepared to support the increase of Indonesia’s food production through technology transfer, agricultural mechanisation, and various solutions developed by his country. “We wish to emphasise once again that no field is closed to cooperation between Belarus and Indonesia, from food security to high-tech industry,” said Lukashenko.
