In an Instagram post cited in Jakarta, Indonesia’s Cabinet Secretariat described the procession as a reflection of the two countries’ shared commitment to deepening their strategic partnership with a forward-looking perspective.

“The agreements announced covered various priority sectors, ranging from the economy to energy, digital affairs, health, and industry,” the caption reads.

In detail, Indonesia and South Korea agreed to establish a special comprehensive strategic dialogue, cooperate in the economy 2.0, partner in critical minerals, advance digital development, and jointly leverage artificial intelligence to support basic healthcare and human development.

The agreements also provide a framework for collaboration in clean energy, carbon capture and storage, industrial development, offshore power generation services, and intellectual property protection.

In addition, one MoU is intended to facilitate financial cooperation between Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund Danantara and the Korea Eximbank.

Several ministers represented Indonesia during the exchange, including Foreign Minister Sugiono, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and Communication and Digital Affairs Minister Meutya Hafid.

The Cabinet Secretariat noted that both Indonesia and South Korea share the view that nurturing a mutually beneficial partnership is key to shaping a resilient future.

Indonesia, it continued, envisions the multifaceted partnership leading to a more inclusive economy, bolstering industrial resilience, and accelerating transformation into an economy grounded in technology and clean energy.

President Prabowo and President Lee held a one-on-one meeting at the presidential office, followed by a bilateral summit attended by ministers and senior officials from both countries.

The two sides exchanged views on a range of sectors and issues of strategic importance, including the economy, energy, technology, science, and the environment.
