Amman (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto and King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein of Jordan focused on the Palestinian issue, particularly the situation in Gaza and the West Bank, during a bilateral meeting at the Basman Palace in Amman on Wednesday afternoon.

The bilateral meeting at the Basman Palace was the main agenda of President Prabowo’s visit to Amman on 24-25 February 2026.

During the meeting, President Prabowo expressed his concern about the violence committed by Israeli forces against the Palestinian people in the West Bank.

According to the President, the incidents in the West Bank could hinder the peace efforts in Gaza undertaken by the Board of Peace (BoP).

“We are very concerned about the incidents that are happening in the West Bank. We believe that these incidents could hinder any success in the efforts we are jointly trying to make in Gaza,” President Prabowo told the King of Jordan.

Therefore, Prabowo stated that the Republic of Indonesia is ready to work with the Jordanian government to find solutions to these problems.

“We want to strengthen and enhance this cooperation, and I think my team will work closely with Your Majesty’s team, so that we can always anticipate any situation. We both know what will happen,” President Prabowo said to King Abdullah II.

Meanwhile, King Abdullah II, who began the welcoming remarks during the bilateral meeting, praised Indonesia’s consistent support for the Palestinian people.

“Your Excellency truly values the future of the Palestinian people. This is something that is truly comforting to all of us. I understand that Your Excellency is committed to creating peace and tranquility. Once again, Your Excellency’s very courageous commitment to protecting the Palestinian people is very important to us,” said the King of Jordan to President Prabowo.

The bilateral meeting between President Prabowo and the King of Jordan was the last state agenda held at the Basman Palace in Amman on Wednesday, after the two leaders held a private meeting in a separate room.

During the bilateral meeting, President Prabowo was accompanied by several officials, including Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Meanwhile, the King of Jordan was accompanied by Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah al-Hashimi, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and several other state officials and military leaders.
