Prabowo and Gibran's Sacrificial Cows Largest at Istiqlal Mosque, Mega's Also Substantial

Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar stated that President Prabowo Subianto’s sacrificial cow weighs 1.3 tonnes and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s weighs 1.2 tonnes, making them the largest received by Istiqlal Mosque this year.

This year, Istiqlal Mosque received a total of 63 cattle, 18 goats, and one sheep for sacrifice. Other notable contributors include PDI-P Chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri, who also donated a sacrificial cow. All animals have been inspected and certified by health authorities.

Sacrificial animal slaughter at Istiqlal Mosque will take place on Thursday, 28 May 2026, at the mosque’s slaughterhouse (RPH), with distribution to affiliated mosques, prayer halls, and orphanages.
