Prabowo and Gibran Hand Over Zakat Fitrah and Mal at State Palace

Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto handed over zakat mal and zakat fitrah to the National Zakat Board (Baznas) at the State Palace, Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta, on Friday, 13 March 2026.

According to Kompas.com observations, the zakat donation was also carried out by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and members of the Red and White Cabinet.

Gibran appeared to donate first. He entered the State Palace at 15:51 WIB and immediately took a seat at the end of the designated table. Gibran then communicated with the zakat committee and handed over his zakat donation.

Subsequently, President Prabowo entered the State Palace at 13:59 WIB. The head of state took a central seat in preparation for donating his zakat. Meanwhile, the President’s Private Secretary, Agung Surahman, placed a red paper bag on the table where Prabowo made his zakat donation.

After the zakat was received, the President and the zakat committee members serving him prayed together.

Prior to President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran, members of the Red and White Cabinet had already taken turns paying their zakat at the State Palace. State officials took their designated seats one by one, including Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra, State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir, and Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno.

Also present were Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar.

This event represents President Prabowo’s support for professional and transparent zakat management to empower the Muslim community and eradicate poverty.
