The Capital City Authority (IKN) held its first Iduladha prayer and qurban ceremony at the National Mosque of IKN on Wednesday, 27 May 2026. The event included the distribution of thousands of meat packages to local communities and construction workers in the IKN area.

The prayer was led by Ust. KH. Athian Ali M. Da’i, Lc., M.A., Chairman of the Indonesian Ulama Forum, who emphasised that faith is measured by love for Allah over worldly attachments.

This year, 29 cattle and nine goats were donated for qurban, including two from the President and one from the Vice President. Thirteen cattle were distributed across districts within IKN’s designated area.

IKN Authority Chief Basuki Hadimuljono participated as a donor, stating, “Today we perform Iduladha prayers and qurban at the National Mosque. May this be an act of worship for all. All sacrifices are from the people for the people.”

Approximately 4,895 meat packages were allocated for nine villages around IKN, with 1,090 packages for workers in the Central Government Area (KIPP), including cleaners, security, receptionists, construction staff, and non-construction workers. Remaining packages went to donors, committees, and staff at various IKN facilities.

Local farmers also benefited, with Rosibul Aklil from Samboja noting that the purchase of livestock for qurban supported his business.
