Prabowo and Belarus President Officially Launch Bilateral Roadmap

President Prabowo Subianto has officially announced the Road Map for Bilateral Cooperation 2026-2030 between Indonesia and Belarus. Prabowo stated that the roadmap demonstrates a shared commitment to making bilateral cooperation more focused.

He made the remarks during a joint press conference following a bilateral meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Thursday.

“Today, both countries have launched the Indonesia-Belarus cooperation strengthening roadmap for 2026-2030, which will serve as a framework for developing bilateral relations over the next five years. This roadmap reflects a shared commitment to more directed and concrete cooperation,” Prabowo said.

Prabowo then detailed several areas of cooperation between Indonesia and Belarus. In the field of food security, both countries agreed to strengthen cooperation on fertilisers and agricultural equipment.

“In the field of food security, we are determined to continue enhancing cooperation. Indonesia and Belarus have complementary potential to strengthen cooperation in modern agriculture, fertilisers, agricultural tools and technology, as well as heavy equipment,” he stated.

In the economic sector, both sides agreed to expand partnerships that support the national development agendas of both countries. Going forward, cooperation will focus on industrial development, agricultural modernisation, supply chain strengthening, and technological cooperation.

In the trade sector, Prabowo expressed appreciation that Belarus has completed the ratification process for the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). “We are also in the process of ratifying it,” Prabowo said.

In the industrial sector, Indonesia and Belarus agreed to increase investment and cooperation between business actors from both countries, particularly in manufacturing, automotive, heavy vehicles, and agro-industry.

Cooperation also extends to the socio-cultural and human resource development fields. The two leaders agreed to strengthen educational and vocational partnerships. “We encourage closer cooperation through cultural exchanges and strengthening partnerships between educational and vocational training institutions,” he said.
