Prabowo: All Schools to be Repaired and Classrooms Equipped with Digital Screens
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has promised to improve the facilities of all schools in Indonesia and provide the latest interactive digital screens.
“All schools will be renovated, and all classrooms will be equipped with the latest digital screens,” Prabowo said during the Grand Corn Harvest and Groundbreaking Ceremony for 10 Food Security Warehouses of the National Police, in East Java, Saturday (16/5/2026).
This will ensure that no children in rural areas are left behind in their education due to unequal access.
“So that knowledge will be available throughout the villages, and all Indonesian people will have equal abilities. Equal access to knowledge, whether in the most remote areas or in the largest cities,” he said.
“We are committed to ensuring that all children, even those from the most disadvantaged backgrounds, can attend school properly. We will build People’s Schools,” Prabowo added.
“If I’m not mistaken, there is already a People’s School in Tuban. We will increase the number and improve its capabilities. We will create excellent schools and integrated schools,” he promised.
In the latest plenary session, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stated that the number of PID (presumably referring to some educational resource) will increase this year, with an additional three PIDs per school.
In addition, the government also plans to build a central teaching studio in Jakarta to provide high-quality learning content, especially for the approximately 330,000 schools that still have difficulty accessing qualified teachers and materials.
The government is also preparing affordable internet technology to address the problem of internet and wifi connectivity in schools.
