“On the 29th day of the month of Ramadan ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, I received the fifth President of Indonesia, Mrs Hj. Megawati Soekarnoputri, at Merdeka Palace. This meeting continues the relations among national leaders,” said Prabowo in a statement on his Instagram account, Thursday (19/3/2026).
Prabowo shared several moments from the meeting with Megawati. From the photos uploaded, Prabowo, wearing a brown safari suit, is seen personally welcoming Megawati as she steps out of the car.
House Speaker Puan Maharani accompanied Megawati. Megawati and Puan appeared to be wearing batik-patterned outfits in blue tones.

Prabowo is seen holding Megawati’s hand as they ascend the steps to enter Merdeka Palace. Afterwards, inside Merdeka Palace, Prabowo’s son Didit Hediprasetyo and presidential aide-de-camp Rizky Irmansyah welcomed Megawati’s arrival.
They appeared to converse in the central room of Merdeka Palace, followed by a meeting. Prabowo, Megawati, Dasco, and Puan were seen sitting at one table.
Previously, Prabowo held a national relations gathering by inviting previous presidents and vice presidents to Merdeka Palace on Tuesday (3/3). At that time, sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and seventh President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) were present. Meanwhile, the vice presidents in attendance were tenth and twelfth Vice President Jusuf Kalla, eleventh Vice President Boediono, and thirteenth Vice President Ma’ruf Amin. The meeting was also attended by chairs of parliamentary political parties.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy stated that the meeting at that time discussed current conditions. Prabowo directly listened to views from several attending figures.
“Alhamdulillah, almost all were present, of course to discuss, exchange relations, and exchange views; the President wants to hear the views of the gentlemen presidents,” said Teddy.
