Prabowo: After 19 Months in Office, Alhamdulillah Much Has Been Achieved

Prabowo said this while attending a mass shrimp harvest in Kebumen, Central Java, on Saturday, 23 May 2026. He stressed that a lot has been achieved during 19 months in leadership.

“We are, Alhamdulillah, in a position to say, 18 months I have led the government, from 20 October 2024; from 2024 to 2025 it’s already one year, then October, November, December, January, February, March, April, May, one year and seven months, so 19 months. 19 months, Alhamdulillah, a lot has been achieved,” Prabowo said in his speech.

Prabowo elaborated that Indonesia has achieved food self-sufficiency in several areas. He said several commodities include rice, corn, and even animal protein.

“We are now self-sufficient in food, already self-sufficient in rice, corn, then our protein, eggs, chicken,” he said.

He acknowledged that meat is not yet self-sufficient. He said that could be achieved within five years.

“Our meat is not yet, we are working on this; perhaps four or five more years until we achieve meat self-sufficiency. Our food security is relatively safe,” he added.
