Prabowo Affirms Polri's Strategic Role in Maintaining Public Order

President Prabowo Subianto has affirmed that the Indonesian National Police (Polri) has a strategic role in maintaining public order as a foundation for the nation’s development and progress. In his address at the 80th Bhayangkara Day Commemoration Ceremony at the Brimob Polri Training Centre in Bogor Regency, West Java, on Wednesday, the President said a country’s success cannot be separated from the presence of a professional police institution trusted by the public. “Therefore, the role of the police is very important, very strategic, and very decisive,” said Prabowo. Prabowo expressed his appreciation to all Polri members who have carried out their duties of maintaining security and order throughout Indonesia. “Polri is present for the people. Polri works for the people. Polri must protect the people. Polri serves the nation and state,” he said. According to him, the entire development agenda requires a conducive security situation. Prabowo added that economic growth, investment, and public welfare will not be realised without legal certainty and security stability. “And there can be no strong country without a state apparatus trusted by the people, loyal to the people, and protecting the people,” said the President.
